However you say it--Muzzuree, as I do, or Mizzooruh, as most of my childhood friends do--the U.S.'s 24th state will be my destination when I hit the road tomorrow.

I'm going back to see my mom, who's recovering from knee surgery, and my siblings, who are taking care of her. I do love that state (Ashcroft et al. notwithstanding), and going back is always a treat. If you haven't traveled I-44 between St. Louis and Springfield, you're really missing out.
